Alex Mandossian today via his Facebook page posted a GREAT POST. 
He shared this link:
5 Tools for Turning Social Media Relationships Into In-Person Connections

Alex posted:

"How true is it that many of the people you connect with online never cross over to real-life! Just think about all the missed opportunities you've had. Well now, there are tools that can help you make those connections."

And then asked people to post and share their stories.

Alex replied with this comment "your story is so inspirational! I hope that you share this story with as many people as you can, because it is true! You can make some of the best connections with strangers, you just have to be open to meeting them and put the fear away."

So here is what I wrote:
"I travel all over interviewing and promoting speaks, authors, musicians etc... and I have to say some of most amazing stories have started with Social Media Sites like FB and Twitter where somebody has reached out to me or I them, and a conversation gets started... One in particular when I was living in Hawaii for 3 yrs. I had a client whom we had been talking via phone for over 3 yrs and worked together for over 3 yrs and when I just recently moved back to CA and had the opportunity to fly to Florida to interview some speakers and she just happened to live only 30 minutes from where I was going to be we met for the very first time and it was AMAZING... It was like I have known her my entire life... The initial HUG was magical and the conversation was like WHY on earth didn't we do this before... So many people are afraid to met complete strangers, I have flown all the way across the US to meet some people... Bottom line YOU Never know, follow your intuition, some of the most amazing Relationships, friendship, business and other come out of the wonderful world of Social Media and the internet... At the end of the day I live my life from the mindset of Sharing, Collaboration, and Team work and from there anything can be achieved... and some wonderful relationships that can be live Transforming... Enjoy the Journey..."

I would like to add to that, that when I lived in Santa Monica, before
I moved to Hawaii for 3 years, I used to have a 3bed/3bath place and 
I would always LOVE to post an ad on Craigslist for my spare room for 
World Travelers to come stay.  I would do this about 3 to 4 times a year, because having grown up overseas from the ages of 5-14 and having 
traveled all over I would find myself missing the different cultures and diversity of people.

I have to say I have met some Amazing people that have led to ongoing relationships personally and business wise, and we still stay in touch via Facebook, email etc...

The world is a big, amazing place and while YES, I obviously advice that you  do your screening and follow your intuition- be willing to open your minds and your hearts and realize that there is a WORLD of collaborations waiting for you at your fingertips...

Discussing Social Media: How to add a video on Pinterest:

Did you know that you can add video on Pinterest? I didn't!

As it seems, Pinterest is not just for sharing pictures, but also for sharing videos. This allows Pinterest to attract even bigger audience, by creating video boards with their content. Except for the common users that will enjoy creating boards with their favourite singers and movies, it can also serve as a great marketing idea, for those that promote their brands/content on Youtube, for example.

All you have to do is use the "Pin it" button and share any video you want, in any of your boards. You can also upload your own videos, by using "Add" and "Upload" on Pinterest.

What do You Choose ???

Everyday in life we have choices...  

Example: We can be driving and somebody cuts us off, and in that very moment we can choose to get pissed off and let it ruin our day or let it go and move on with our day.   

I finally got clear that when I am driving I like to either have some audio book on where I am engaged in listening and learning something or to listen to music that I Love and I just start singing my heart out...  That way no matter what happens when I am driving, I already am in a good state of happiness and can shift right back into that space if something unpleasant does happen when I am driving...  

At the end of the day Life is Precious and can be gone in a blink of a second... I used to work at World Trade Center Tower 2 and missed the planes by ONE hour, because a client of mine cancelled our appointment the night before. Normally, I still would have gone in early except that one day I decided oh heck, why not sleep in an extra 30 minutes...  I used to commute from the NJ side to the NY side 4 days a week for work so that extra sleep was something that was much appreciated as those 4 days were 12 hour days.  

In my opinion life is too short to get pissed off at things you sometimes don't have control over.  I attempt to live my Life from a space of Heart centered LOVE as much as possible...

How Authentic Are YOU in Social Media ???

To me Social Media is all about:

These are truly interesting times in the Social Media World...

I think the World of the internet has mostly been a fountain of inspiration and a help for many that are shut ins... and for massive resources of all kinds and unfortunately I also think the internet has also created self-imposed shuts ins.

The Bonuses:

-We can find anything we need on the internet.

-Met amazing people from around the world.

-Improve our outreach for clients for our businesses

-Create cash flow from our websites 

-It has provided disabled homebound people with a way to

communicate and interact with others.

etc..etc..etc..

The Questions I find interesting about the world of the internet:

Do You trust yourself and others ???

Are You willing to meet people from across the world you 

have never met ???

Are You using Social Media authentically ???

Do You respond yourself or use automation ???

Is Social Media just a numbers game to You ???

Do You say one thing on the internet and then in your private world do another ???

Are You really where you say you are ???

What type of Social Media person are You- Introvert or Extrovert ???

To me the World is my family, and I have met some AMAZING people from around the world on the internet.  I will share a story of how amazing... I just relocated back to CA. in Jan of 2012, from the Big Island of Hawaii where I lived for 3 yrs.

While I lived in Hawaii I met an amazing person whom I became good friends with over the internet, we talked almost everyday, yet we never had physically met, well one day on a business trip where I was supposed to stay feel thru, and YES, I could have stayed at a hotel, yet as I sat on a chair after I got my luggage with the news of my stay with friends having fallen thru and I got really quiet, and all of a sudden I had this inner voice say call "_______".  

I called this person and they were like absolutely, and it was the most amazing, fun, in depth conversation ever...  Now mind you, his friends and my friends were telling each of us are you YOU NUTS this person could be crazy, dangerous etc...  All you have done is talk on the phone... 

My point is ONE must use their intuition, FEEL from their HEART not your belly where the butterflies of fear live... I have traveled across the country to meet people I have never met in person- males and females... One must take risks in live... Be daring, bold to expand, learn and grow...  

I am for the most part a fearless person, I am not saying I don't have certain things that I don't like or am afraid of like "SNAKES" LOL... Just saying I don't live from a place of fear in my daily live... and I am sooo GRATEFUL for that...  

The funny thing is, on the phone and in person people tell me WOW... You are one of the most high energy, positive, passionate person I have met,  and would have to agree that when I am on stage, performing, speaking, in front of the camera or live I am quiet the extrovert.... Yet once I am settled in I am very much the introvert, quiet a homebody... Hm... 

I have to say that in today's world of Social Media, I think it has truly helped those that are primarily introverts reach out and connect with others.  I also think it has helped the disabled population and those who can't get out,  have interaction and develop a circle of friends and build a support system.

On the other hand, we have people that have become so attached to Social Media they do nothing except surf on the computer and it consumes their life,  and they become shut ins...

So at what point does Social Media become a problem ???

And... to what degree are you being honest when you are socializing in the Social Media world.  I have found some of Social Media to leave a BAD TASTE in my mouth because Social Media has become a numbers game, a score and some folks are NOT being authentic and honest.  

Example: Foursquare: It is meant to share where You are, what you do, and tips for others, instead I have seen people just to raise their scores checking into places they aren't even at.... 

Empire Avenue: People clicking on missions and not doing the missions, and just collecting the Eaves...

WHAT the heck is that all about... Come on people...

Are you that desperate to be the leader on a board and what does that say about you ?  

And... then of course we have all of the computer programs to do the work for us, auto responders etc... again which I can understand if You are a large company or famous... Yet my take on that is, if you have a large company or are famous PAY a Virtual assistant with a POSITIVE caring, I can do attitude to handle it for you, so there is still a HUMAN element... Ok another pet peeve, Please CREATE Your OWN replies, in Your OWN words, so that it reflects YOU and not the assistant's words or style...  

I can always tell when it is an automated statement and or when an assistant has written the response versus the person I am contacting because most of the time I know them and their writing style and their personal words they like to use etc... Meaning their personality... We are human beings after all that like real HUMAN caring and interaction...

Solution: one thing that I do is I have created all of these replies and action steps and have them in my email draft and a doc on my desktop so my assistant can just cut and paste my replies and I also have them leave me the DIRECT emails for me.  And... I have a list of people the VA's know to leave for me, I communicate directly with my inner circle people...  Why is it called SOCIAL MEDIA if we aren't willing to interact or socialize with others and truly show we actually care...

Ok the last thing that really drives me insane about the tech world...

How many of You are silently cursing in your head when you call a number and you get these LONG messages with Please select option 1, 2, 3 etc... or a computer voice saying "how may I assist you" ? And then the voice says, Sorry I didn't get that, did you say this... PLEASE that is such a WASTE of time... I would much rather have a live voice who knows the answers or where to direct me then wasting my time on a phone with a computer when half the time I am still going to have to speak to a live person anyway and I just wasted 10 minutes navigating the options and sorry I didn't understand that, let me connect you to an operator... LOL...  Yes, there is the short cut hit "OOO" for operator a ton of times LOL... and eventually after a few repeated "OOO's" you finally get connected.

So what was the POINT in writing this Blog... 

The point was to bring to everyone's awareness, are they truly being authentic in the game of Social Media, are they truly creating Collaborations, sharing, and team work, or are they strictly in it for a higher klout score and automation...   

Please leave Comments on what your feelings are about Social Media, Automation, and the Numbers game...  

Also, if You have some unique tips and tools on how to solve some of these issues, share them...

Social Media: Giving, Sharing, Team, Referrals

I truly Feel that A lot of People Just don't Get How Important Social Media is...

I wrote the Following Piece on Integrity (see below) That discusses Sharing, Referrals, Co-Creation, and Collaboration....

So Many PEOPLE are attempting to do things by themselves, The LONE RANGER MENTALITY...  Attempting to Save Money.... Hoard their clients, Ideas etc...  

WHY ???

Don't they Get the Core Principle of TEAM, Collaboration, Sharing, that is Takes Team Work, to Make the Dream's Work...

Don't they get that when YOU Spend Money on Self and Others You are also

then Creating Jobs for others and then- the Circle and Ebb and Flow of 

Abundance in all Areas of Everyone's Life's Starts to Open Up and a beautiful Circular Energy is then interconnected with the  ALL-US... 

WE ARE ALL ONE...

Don't they Get until You Can truly Give and Share from the Space of Non-Attachment to the Outcome and that You are doing what You are doing because YOU Truly LOVE what You are doing AND... You KNOW You are Giving

Massive Value and Helping others, THAT ONLY THEN... Will the True Flow of  Massive Abundance Open Up...

Don't they GET that EVEN then, If You have what I will call "MIND VIRUSES", (A term I have heard Bob Burg use) Old Outdated Beliefs and Stories running around in YOUR unconscious mind, You are only going to get people taking advantage of YOU- And... then You are going to say...  You just CAN'T GIVE... It is Unhealthy to Just give, people will take advantage of YOU... YOU ARE RIGHT THEY WILL, because that is what YOU believe on an unconscious level...

Another unpopular Thought I have on Abundance and Sharing...

Why Do People want to DIE with a Ton of Money ???

I would Rather Spend My Money on the PEOPLE I LOVE and Care about while 

I am ALIVE, So I get to see them Enjoy it...  I am NOT saying Spend with No sense of Responsibility... I am NOT saying Do NOT have a Savings account and a Retirement Fund etc...  

I am SAYING... Share, Give, Collaborate with Others...

Make a Difference in this WORLD while YOU Are HERE, ALIVE NOW....

            INTEGRITY

         

Integrity and What does Authentic Sharing, Collaboration and Teamwork Mean ???

Do You Do things for Others with the expectation of a Return favor ???

When You say Win-Win do You really Mean Win-Win or are You always in the back of YOUR mind keeping Score ???

In today's Society and Business it is has become very Apparent that Many Still are Afraid to Share their Ideas, Give Referrals out to others and have not TRULY learned the Art of Giving... They Hoard, and are coming from a Place of fear that somebody else might steal their idea... Business, Their clients etc... The Funny Thing is, when One is coming from that place of Fear, all they are Creating is the UNIVERSE presenting people in their life's that will prove their theory right...

What I absolutely LOVE about Bob Burg's Books the Go-Giver, and Go-Givers sell more is how it truly teaches what REAL GIVING is all about...  In Real Life and in Business...

If Everyone just got that YOUR Best Abundance Manufacturer comes from having Beyond Excellent Customer Service which means Giving above

and Beyond of Yourself, without keeping score. Doing because YOU LOVE what You are doing,  And... also being able to be HONEST with self and others when You Cannot serve a clients need because of time, resources, or that isn't your companies niche- And You are confident within Yourself and Your Company and NOT coming from a place of fear of Losing a Client and Can Say... Sorry and...  I can However Refer YOU to _____, they are great at that, and Please tell them I sent You, so they can take Excellent Care of YOU...

WOW... how things can Shift... Creating Teams, Associations, Co-Creating with others is What Life is all about... Promoting People, Businesses, Causes, People that You Truly Resonate with, You have their back as they have YOURS... Developing those Alliances to better SERVE Your Clients and Business...

Now that to me is what True Giving and Conscious Business Principles are all about...

I want to THANK Everyone who has been a part of my Co-Creation in life thus far... You mean the World to me, and I totally Love, Support, and Promote YOU to the Best of my ability... To Everyone's Success in all Areas of YOUR life...
